Color Properties : AutoCAD
Hello, Friends.
Today We will learn about Color Properties in AutoCAD Software. There are Main Three properties
1) Color 2) Linetype 3) Lineweight.
COMMAND: COLOR (enter)
SHORT-CUT: COL (enter)
MENU : FORMAT > COLOR
There are a total of three options in color.
1) Index Color or AutoCAD Color Index (ACI)
2) True Color
3) Colobooks
1)AutoCAD Color Index
ACI Colors are Standard Color of AutoCAD Software. Each Color is identified by unique ACI Numbers ranging from 1 to 255.ACI Colors are divided into three color groups. The First Group has 7 colors (Index numbers 1 to 9). The First Group has standard Colors 1(Red), 2(Yellow),3(Green), 4(Cyan), 5(Blue), 6(Magenta),
7(White/Black). 7 Index number is the default drawing color. When printing any drawing it shows Black color but with the black background, it shows objects with white color.
The Second group has 240 colors (Index numbers 10 to 249). The second group is divided into two parts: Even Number colors & Odd number colors.240 colors are different shades of Red, Yellow, Green, Cyan, Blue & Magenta Color.
The third group has 6 colors (Index numbers 250 to 255). Colors are a shade of Black-white colors.250 is black color & 255 is white color.251 to 254 are different shades of grey colors.
2) True Colors
There are two options in True colors. HSL & RGB.
Hue,Saturation & Luminance (HSL) : Hue means Wavelength of Color (0-360),
Saturation means purity of color(0-100) & Luminance means brightness - Drakness (0-100)
Red,Green,Blue(RGB) : Value ranging from 0 to 255.
Red 0,Green 0 ,Blue 0 = Black Color
Red 255, Green 255, Blue 255 = White Color
We can create new colors by changing the value of HSL & RGB.

3) Colorbooks
Several Third-party Colorbooks like Pantone, DIC & RAL are preloaded with AutoCAD Software. We can select any color from the list.
We can apply any color on the object after selecting objects. By default color of new objects is the current color in properties settings.
