AutoCAD Trim Command
Hello Friends,
Today We will be learning about Trim Command. Trim Command is used to cut objects in 2D with other Objects.
Command: Trim(enter)
Short-cut: Tr(enter)
Menu: Modify > Trim
Ribbon / Tool icon :
There is a difference in Trim Command in AutoCAD 2021 and previous versions.
In AutoCAD 2021 Version, By default, all the objects are cuttings edges. But in AutoCAD 2021 prior versions, you have double Enter to make all objects are as cuttings edges.
CuTting edges (T) :
By This Option, you can select specific objects as cutting edge. You can select one or more cutting edges.
Note: This option is added from AutoCAD 2021 Version.
Crossing (C) :
You can use the crossing selection method to cut the edges of objects in Trim Command.
mOde(O):
There are two options: Quick and Standard (New option from AutoCAD 2021)
Quick(q): In this mode, all the edges of objects act as cutting edges.so you can cut the edges of objects individually. You can cut the edges by specifying two points in fence selection.
Standard(s): In this mode, First we have to specify Cutting edges then we can cut edges of objects which cross that cutting edges.
Project (p): We can specify the method to trim objects.
None (n): No projection is specified in this method. If you select this option then only those edges of objects will cut which are intersecting with the cutting edge in 3D Space.
UCS(u): Projection is specified on XY plane of Current UCS.if you select this method then you can trim objects which do not intersect with cutting edges in 3D Space.
View(v): Projection is specified along the current view direction. If you select this option then you can trim objects that intersect boundary in the current view.
Edge(e): Select the options Extend or No extend.
Extend(e): Extends the cutting edge on its path to intersect an object in 3D space.
No Extend(n): Only trim those edges which are intersecting Cutting Edge in 3D space.
eRase(R): Erase Selected Objects. You can delete unwanted edges that were not trimmed by this method.
Undo(u): Reverse previous last action in trim command.
