AutoCAD Offset Command


Hello Friends,
Today We will see Offset Command. Offset Command is used to Create Parallel lines,
Parallel Curves & Concentric Circles. We can Offset only one object at a time. We can select only one object in the Offset command.

Command: Offset (Enter)
Short-cut: O (Enter)
Menu: Modify > Offset
Ribbon / Tool icon : 


First, specify offset distance then Select objects to offset.

Steps:
Specify Offset distance or [Through / Erase / Layer ] : 2 (Enter)
Select object to offset or [Exit / Undo] : Select object
Specify point on side to offset or [Exit / Multiple / Undo]: Mouse click on the desired side to offset


Through(t): If we don't know the distance, We can offset the object by mouseclick point.



    Erase(e): In this option, You have to select the option whether you want to delete source object or you don't want to delete source object after offsetting.


    Multiple(m): By this option, You can create multiple offset copies of the selected object. This option is only visible after selecting source object.you have to select source object only once after that you have to specify the desired side to offset for multiple offset copies.


    Layer(L): You have to select whether you want to create offset copies in the current layer or source object layer.

    Undo(u): Reverse the Previous Offset.

For Creating a wall in 2D, We can use Offset command to offset the line objects.
