Align Command : AutoCAD

Hello, Friends

Today We will learn about Align Command. Align command is a combination of Scale, Rotate & Move Command.

COMMAND: ALIGN (enter)

SHORT-CUT: AL (enter)

MENU: MODIFY > 3D OPERATIONS > ALIGN

We can align selected source object to destination object either by 2points or 3points of source points and destination points. We can Move & Rotate objects using a pair of two sources & three destination points.

Align Selected source object to destination object using a pair of three sources & three destination points.

Steps:

Select source objects: Select objects (shown in fig.)

Specify first source point: mouseclick first point on source object. (shown in fig.)

Specify first destination point: mouseclick first point on destination object. (shown in fig.)

Specify second source point: mouseclick first point on source object. (shown in fig.)

Specify second destination point: mouseclick first point on destination object. (shown in fig.)

Specify third source point or <Continue>: mouseclick first point on source object. (shown in fig.)

Specify third destination point: mouseclick first point on destination object. (shown in fig.)

Specify first destination point: mouseclick first point on destination object. (shown in fig.)

Specify second source point: mouseclick first point on source object. (shown in fig.)

Specify second destination point: mouseclick first point on destination object. (shown in fig.)

Specify third source point or <Continue>: enter

Scale objects based on alignment points [Yes/No]:

Yes: Scale source object to destination object based on alignment points.

No: Don't Scale source object to destination object. The source object aligns with the first destination point of the destination object.
